What to Bring
- Travel insurance - compulsory.
- Passport - needs to be valid for 6 months after return.
- Visa if required + 2 extra passport sized photographs (Visas are no longer required for NZ or UK passports).
- 2 copies of visa & front page of passport in case you lose your passport en route.
- Money - US$ cash easiest. Credit cards are usable in cities, but not generally in Abadiânia. Eftpos is only available in cities and at some airports for money withdrawal.
- NO JET LAG tablets, available from most chemists or airports.
- Dehydration tablets, invaluable for mitigating jetlag.
- Some snacks for stopovers and airports if desired. These can be bought for the return trip.
- White loose fitting clothing for 3 days per week while attending the Casa. Other days wear what you like. Light coloured clothes are best as the work continues 24/7.
- Sneakers or sandals of any colour.
- Warm sweater for April to August.
- Sarong - useful in hot weather.
- Fold up umbrella October to March or $2 shop plastic poncho.
- Swimming gear.
- A small towel or chamois is useful for travelling.
- Earplugs.
- Torch.
- Reading material for flights.
- Journal if you wish to write.
